Newport Technologies is my public speaking vehicle to evangelize mobile technology trends inside China today.  Since 2003, I have been delivering public speaking presentations in Mandarin and English on cutting-edge embedded Smart Card/Semiconductor Mobile technologies, China-specific wireless technology market trends, how to sell to Greater China/Asia, and how to use Chinese social media to overcome the Great Firewall legally and successfully.  You need to use the local languages effectively to sell in the Asian marketplace.

I’ve delivered close to 400 public speaking presentations globally since 2003 and uploaded about 265 videos to YouTube and Vimeo.   While working in the Gemalto Beijing office from 2008-2013, I realized that the subtle art of selling to the Chinese was through video presentations to scale awareness, while delivering and uploading an estimated 80 videos to local video streaming websites, like Youku as well as on YouTube.  Hence, because of censorship and protectionism, I had to figure out how to harness Chinese stream video websites like Youku to upload my presentations to key stakeholders within my ecosystem inside China because YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter were and still are banned inside China.  

It was obvious that using the Youku video streaming website would be the most logical method to get my English and Mandarin Chinese language public speaking presentations to key decision-makers inside China.   I have uploaded since 2009 about 80 of my public speaking video clips to Youku.  Once the upload is finished,  I will cut/paste my local video hyperlink onto WeChat and other Chinese and Western media sites.  This is all about harnessing the power of Western and Chinese Social Media together.
